The Philippines was once tagged as the Social Media Capital of the World. And we Filipinos certainly believe that we are still holding (and living) to that title.
Mashable launched the event in 2010 as a way to recognize the digital revolution happening right before our eyes. Each year, thousands of people organize hundreds of meetups across the globe. From Australia to the Philippines, all the way to Sri Lanka and Morocco, countries come together every June to participate in this global movement.
Earlier today, Team Mozilla Philippines Community participated in the annual celebration of Social Media Day in Manila, Philippines. The event in Manila this year was held at the Samsung Hall of the SM Aura Premier in Bonifacio Global City. Hundreds visited the MozillaPH booth. Countless demo of Firefox OS were done. A couple dozens of connections made.
