The first day of the FSA Leaders Camp really fried everyone’s brains as we had a lot of information to take in for a short amount of time. Good thing a coffee supply is available for all the participants!
For the second and last day, we focused on developing their skills as team leaders through games and planning sessions.
We started with our shout-out segment where all participants submit their random shout-outs and guess who’s. Looks like the participants had an awesome after party in the pool and in their rooms last night and I was already snoozing by then!
After breakfast we had a lot of exercises to wake everyone up.
We started the day with a game that puts everyone’s teamwork to the test as they try to collect as many MozMoney on the ground as possible but with the group members having a handicap.
Next was the calamansi challenge where they have to transfer the small calamansi using only folders.
And our favorite, the Helium Stick!
After the activities, we had a processing of the morals of what we did. The FSAs discussed what they felt and learned from the activities.
We then moved on to the next part of our activities, the pool games!
And then after the games, we proceeded on having fun in the pool.
After lunch, we now transitioned into the conclusive part of the camp, where we reveal the plot twist for all the MozMoney collecting that we did during the camp. For our final group session, we will simulate the project management process. The challenge is to plan and organize a recruitment campaign (complete with online and offline activities) with the MozMoney they have left. Each facilitator played a role like, venue provider, school administration, materials supplier, merchandise manufacturer, corporate sponsor, food sponsor, etc. The time given was 5 weeks, where each week stands for 10mins in the simulation.
Each FSAs planning and negotiating skills were put into the test!
The groups presented each of their output afterwards.
After evaluating the money that they have left before the simulation and their performance for the simulation, we came up with the best team for this year’s FSA Leaders Camp PH 2015, Team Mozby! Congratulations for a job well done!
Each FSAs were given an envelope where everyone can put their messages in.
And that ends the 2nd FSA Leaders Camp PH 2015! We sure had lots of fun and learning for the 2 days that we were together! We hope we inspired our FSA leaders to apply what they learned to their campus and further spread the #MozLove! Thank you to all our participants who attended and let’s continue rocking the open Web!
