At the beginning of this year, we conducted an anonymous survey among members of the community. As promised, here are the results of the said survey.
A total of 54 respondents participated in the online survey created using the good old Google Forms. Here’s what we found out about the composition of our local community:
From where are Pinoy Mozillians?
- 96.3% of survey respondents are Filipino.
- 37% are from Luzon (but outside of Metro Manila).
- 24.1% are from Metro Manila.
- 18.5% are from Mindanao.
- 16.7% are from the Visayas.
- 3.7% are currently outside of the country.
The current Mozilla Philippines Community is composed of 77.8% male and 22.2% female species. Most Pinoy Mozillians (58.5%) have Mozilla Community Portal profiles already.
The community has still more professional members (83.3%) than students (16.7%). Most of our members are Software or Web Developers (53.7%).
When it comes to attending events, most of the Pinoy Mozillians who participated in the survey said that they prefer to have Meetups and Events held on Saturday Evening (59.3%).
A majority of Pinoy Mozillians (38.9%) said that they attended 1-2 events in 2020; 31.5% said that they were not able to attend any MozillaPH events in 2020; 16.7% said that they attended 3-5 events last year; and 13% attested that they were able to attend more than 5 events in 2020.
As for the preferred communication channels of Pinoy Mozillians:
- Email or Mailing List = 92.6%
- Matrix/Element [chat.mozilla.org] = 18.5%
- Slack = 29.6%
- Social Media [Twitter, Facebook, Instagram] = 64.8%
- Viber Group = 9.3%
When asked what kind of events Pinoy Mozillians want to see in 2021, these are the responses:
